So if you have a traveller in your life, then this travel holiday gift guide should help you pick our the perfect present!

2018 Holiday Gift Guide: Travel Edition

1. Bluetooth Noise-Cancelling Headphones

I love my Bluedio Turbine Active Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Headphones (White) and use them every chance I get. These noise cancelling headphones are every travellers dream. They are both stylish and light-weight; perfect for men or women. The wireless feature makes them great to use without annoying cords and they easily connect to your bluetooth device (phone, tablet, etc.) while on your travels. In addition to these being handy for travellers, they are also great to use at home to drown out noise or to allow loved-ones some peace and quiet.

2. Passport Holder

As an avid traveller, protecting your passport is key. The Nikki Cade Map Maker Passport Holder is both stylish and practical – it will definitely keep passports safe while in transit. The pretty colours are just a bonus! Anyone shopping for me is welcome to get this… just sayin’.

3. Packing Cubes

I love my packing cubes so much I purchased two sets – one for me and one for my husband. These Shacke Pak – set of 4 packing cubes come with a laundry bag, or a bag that could be used for shoes. best thing about these is how easily these cubes fit into your suitcase – all clothing can be coordinated within each cube so when you arrive at your destination you can pull out one cube pre-packed with everything you need. Definitely something I will never travel without.

4. RFID Blocking Money Belt

In the grand scheme of things, an RFID blocking travel money belt s a gift of practicality and says “I value your safety”. Avoiding getting pick-pocketed or having your cards scanned on vacation is a serious concern. It’s always a good idea to have a money belt with an extra credit card and some extra cash just in case. This could help in an emergency and also is just one of those things that you’ll wish you had when you’re telling the story of how your wallet was stolen and you had no money for the rest of your trip. Ok – I could just be a paranoid person. But I’m sure there are a few other paranoid people in this world, and they would definitely appreciate an RFID Blocking Money Belt!

5. Journal / Notebook

Another great idea for the female traveller in your life would be a journal or notebook. Bonus points if it’s travel themed or has an inspirational quote on it! Some travellers really love to document their journeys and remember the details of the experience. For those individuals a beautiful travel journal would be an ideal and thoughtful gift.

6. Beach Bag / Tote

For the beach-bum in your life, a funky beach bag would be a great gift. I know I love having variety for when I’m going to the beach. Small totes, large ones, ones with zippers, long straps, short straps… the opportunities are endless. Bonus points if this beach bag also comes with an all inclusive vacation! (To my husband if you’re reading this…I have numerous beach bags – jut buy me the vacation!)

7. Sleep Mask

Something I always travel with is a sleep mask. This is an essential accessory to have while in transit and for hotel rooms that might be too bright or have weird lights you can’t cover. I especially like using mine during flights when people have their reading lights on or windows open. This is an essential every traveller needs!

8. Earplugs

I know this isn’t a glamorous gift, but it’s definitely a practical one for a traveller. Imagine, arriving at your beautiful hotel expecting a restful night’s sleep only to be awoken in the middle of the night by loud street noise or other guests. These Hearos Earplugs will help ensure the traveller in your life can have a peaceful sleep on their next trip.

9. Universal Travel Adaptor

This is another practical gift for a traveller in your life. If you know someone going on their first international adventure, a universal travel adaptor would be an excellent gift! And really, having more than one adaptor is actually a blessing. This will help the traveller in your life ensure they can stay connected and have their tech gadgets fully charged while in transit.

10. Portable Luggage Scale

For the detailed traveller in your life – or perhaps the person who always packs too much – a portable luggage scale will help avoid any unnecessary costs at the airport for over-weight luggage. This portable luggage scale easily fits into a carry-on bag to ensure you can weigh your luggage easily and is a low-cost addition to a travel gadget collection.

11. Kindle / Kobo

An e-reader is an excellent travel companion; waiting in airports, while in transit, or even at home in between trips. Whether you pick a Kindle or a Kobo – both options would be a fantastic gift for a traveller in your life you loves to read.

12. Travel Jewelry Case

As someone who likes to travel with accessories, I always struggle to find the best way to transport them without everything turning into a tangled mess. A travel jewelry case would be a great solution to help keep things neat and organized while in transit.

13. Security Door Stop Alarm

Another practical gift, but one that could be useful for a solo traveller or someone who may be in an area where extra security would be welcome. A door stop alarm could alert a traveller of someone trying to enter their room and (hopefully!) scare that potential intruder away.

14. Camera Tripod

As I scroll through my Instagram feed, I am constantly seeing photos that are taken with tripods. A portable or travel-sized tripod would be a great addition to an avid travellers’ gear. This would help them take shots of their travels to share with family and friends – instead of having to use a selfie stick or ask a stranger.

15. FitBit

This is a personal favourite of mine for travel – a FitBit. When I travel I love to walk as much as possible to see the city. Having a FitBit is a fun way to add some exercise into your day and to track how far you’ve walked. A personal best for me was over 36,000 steps in one day and aside from sore feet, I would have never known how much terrain I covered in one day!

16. Google Chromebook

If you’re feeling especially giving, a new Google Chromebook would be an excellent gift for a traveller. Light-weight, quick to power-up, great storage and the use of apps! It easily connects to my Google accounts and makes blogging, interacting on social media and general internet browsing a breeze.

I can’t tell you how many articles and pins that i have seen with the topic being holiday gifts. I have basically ignored all of them since I travel so much and can’t imagine that I need anything. However, I have to say this list is really good. There are a couple of things that I definitely am going to purchase!

I found the portable luggage scale to be the most useful among other items in the list. Sometimes it gets so chaotic to rearrange check in and cabin luggages at the check in counter in the airport. If we have this equipment, travel will be a lot easier.

very useful gifts for the frequent traveler. Especially the tool to weigh the bags – for me that is always the challenge when I am returning with goodies I’ve picked up just praying when I get to the airport that my bag is not overweight.

What a drool-worthy list of travel gear. Wish someone would buy me the ones I wanted, especially that door-stop. I never knew they made those things and I’ve stayed in hotels where I needed one.

My parents have that exact luggage weight and it is so useful! Especially when I need to weigh my luggage leaving them with a suitcase full of American goodies!
