When I book an all inclusive vacation I typically opt for rest and relaxation. That was my plan going into our stay at Hotel Xcaret Mexico, but I was surprised to see the fantastic amenities for guests to to use throughout their vacation. There were numerous pools, lagoons, sitting areas, restaurants and bars around the property. Whether you were looking for rest and relaxation, or more of a lively atmosphere you could find what you wanted at this resort. As I mentioned, I’m not usually an adventurous person, but on this trip I decided I had to go kayaking at Hotel Xcaret simply from seeing the fantastic images on the internet.
Paddle boarding vs. Kayaking
I wanted to get the full resort experience, so instead of heading right for the kayaks, I decided to try paddle boarding for the first time. There was no line or wait to get a paddle board or a kayak. That was great news for me because my paddle boarding experience lasted less than 3 minutes. I didn’t actually fall into the water, but let’s just say I probably hold the record for the number of times someone “almost fell” in 3 minutes. Needless to say, I am not a paddle boarder at heart. I exchanged my paddle board for a kayak and spent an hour exploring the man-made lagoon with my husband. Here is a video of our kayaking at Hotel Xcaret Mexico, and my (brief) paddle boarding experience.

That looks like a lot of fun and what a beautiful place to learn paddleboarding or kayaking. Is it part of the hotel property? I would love to try my hand at kayaking and this looks like the perfect place to learn how.
Very fun! Nice that they had amenities like this right at your resort. My kids went kayaking this summer, and it really looks fun! Like you, I do not envision myself to be a paddle boarder. 🙂
Would love to. Kayaking is one of my favorite activities. But I mainly like doing it in the evening, when everything is colorful. Typical thing to do in Finland
I’ve been here!! I love Mexico, but found Xcaret quite expensive at the time. Saying that, I wish I tried some kayaking when we were there. It’s not as easy as it looks, especially when the sun’s at it hottest too. Lucky I didn’t fall in!
Mexico is such a wonderful place! I’d love to paddle in such a beautiful surrounding, too. Well, have to wait another month till I can leave.
Kayaking is so fun! That’s awesome that it was included in your stay. Great video!
