Over the years I’ve tried to perfect my packing list for all-inclusive vacations. For my upcoming trip to St. Maarten I pulled together all of my stuff and packed it up in a few hours for me and my husband! It definitely helps that I keep my packing list up to date, most of my toiletries pre-packed, and I don’t need any of my summer clothes in February in Canada.
Here’s a look at what to pack for a week in St. Maarten at an all-inclusive resort. A printable list is at the bottom of this post for easy reference.
1-Week St. Maarten Packing List
Purse Packing List
I try not to bring a lot in my purse, and mainly stick to the essential items I need quick access to. Here’s what I include in my purse when I travel to an all-inclusive resort.
- Wallet
- Credit cards
- Local currency
- ID
- Passport
- Hand sanitizer
- Pen & notebook
- Phone
Carry-On Packing List
For my carry-on, I like to bring a backpack or my Lug puddle jumper tote bag. Recently, I purchased a Lug puddle jumper backpack so I have the best of both worlds. Here’s what I’ll be packing in mine for my trip to St. Maarten.
- Change of clothes (shorts, tank top, underwear)
- Flip flops
- Bathing suit
- Sun dress (that doubles as a bathing suit cover-up)
- Camera
- Kobo
- Charging Cables
- Portable Battery
- Sunglasses
- Make-up
- Inflatable Pillow
- Eye Mask
Clothing Packing List
I’ve seen a lot of minimalist packing lists, and this isn’t one of them. I like variety and sometimes have a hard time deciding what to wear. I also like to bring options for casual activities and dressier ones – depending on where I’m going. This is what’s in my suitcase for my upcoming tropical vacation.
- Dresses x 5-6
- Shorts x 2
- T-Shirts x 3
- Tank Tops x 3
- Pyjamas
- Socks x 2
- Light Sweater
- Underwear x 7
- Strapless Bra
Shoes Packing List
On one of my earlier vacations I brought 8 pairs of shoes! For a 1-week vacation! I’ve tried to minimize the number I bring now, but if I’m being honest, I prefer to have comfortable shoes. And I like to have a few pairs, just in case.
- Sandals x 3
- Running Shoes (worn on the plane to and from only)
Accessories Packing List
I like to accessorize, but in the past few years I’ve tried to minimize what I bring with me. I’ve narrowed it down to the essentials and in terms of jewelry, I pack a few items that can go with multiple outfits.
- Straw Hat
- Baseball Hat
- Extra Sunglasses
- Jewelry
Toiletries Packing List
Over the years I’ve been known to over pack when it comes to toiletries. Hey, I like what I like. I find it easier to bring what I might need and have the brands I like, rather than needing something and having to find it or spend too much money on it at a resort. A lot of the toiletries I bring, I hope I don’t ever need. But if I do, then I’m ready for it!
- First Aid Medical Kit (refer to my post on everything I include in this kit)
- Razor
- Sunscreen
- Shampoo & Conditioner
- Face Wash
- Toothpaste & Toothbrush
- Q-Tips
- Deodorant
- Sewing Kit
- Hair Straightener
- Hair Brush, Elastics, and Bobby Pins
Miscellaneous Packing List
Depending on where I’m going I’ll refine my “miscellaneous” items. For a resort vacation I usually like to bring my own towels just in case we go off the resort and need them, or want to easily identify our pool chairs.
- Beach Bag
- Beach Towels x 2
- Towel Clips
- Playing Cards
- Chess/Checkers Game
- Steamer
- Paperback Book
So there it is – my list of what to pack for a trip to St. Maarten. Below I’ve included a printable list with all of my clothing items, accessories, toiletries and gadgets to help you with your packing. And my motto is, if you have room and you’re in doubt – just bring it! Check out some of my other packing lists for more packing inspiration and tips. What do you always bring with you even though you may never need it?

Great lists, when I go away I always bring bug spray OFF or another brand for mosquitoes.
I love the lists. I like the idea of a sundress that can be use as a cover up for beach trip. Always separate your passport in your bag and have it in your body incase of emergency you have it with you. Carrying cash is essential and have a body pocket for important matters. Not put everything in one bag. Happy Travels.
This is super informational! How would you recommend the best way to print this would be?
This is a fabulous packing list that would work for any beach/resort vacation. Does St. Maarten need an electrical converter if coming from the U.S.?
St. Maarten seems such a beautiful place and I would love to visit it someday. In terms of packing, for me it is very easy as I know that anywhere I go I need my photo camera with extra memory and batteries, two smartphones (in case one gets damaged), and a pretty big medical kit (in case anything happens to me). Well, of course, you also need money, but that is pretty obvious I guess.
That is a pretty comprehensive packing list and a useful reference. For me the pen and notebook are non-negotiable and of course a good power bank or portable batteries as you mentioned. Would love to visit St Maarten some day!
One thing that I don’t see on the list is sun protection and after sun if you get sun burn .
We call it Sunscreen – and in the link to my first aid medical travel kit I have Solarcaine which is used on sunburns 🙂 hope that helps!
