Norwegian Escape: Mini-Suite Cabin Tour

by The Average Tourist

Are you considering a cruise on a Norwegian ship? Maybe you’re even thinking of booking a balcony or mini-suite cabin? Well here’s a look at our mid-ship mini-suite cabin on the Norwegian Escape. We were located on deck 10 in cabin 10838 and it was a perfect accommodation for 2 for our cruise across the Atlantic Ocean to Bermuda from New York.

Some of my favourite features of this room were the couch and vanity area, the larger shower and double sinks in the bathroom. It was the first cruise we’ve been on where we had a large shower (for a cruise ship!) and I really enjoyed having the extra room in the bathroom. The couch area was a nice spot to relax our lounge with great views of the ocean.

Mini-Suite Cabin (Mid-Ship with Balcony) Highlights:

  • accommodations for 2-4 people (we thought just 2 was perfect!)
  • 2 beds that convert into a queen-sized bed
  • sofa that converts to a bed
  • private balcony with 2 chairs and a table (approx. 44 square feet)
  • some cabins connect to adjoining cabins
  • total cabin size approx. 251 square feet
  • 3 standard Canadian/USA outlets/plugs at vanity
  • hairdryer located under the vanity
  • large vanity with stool, coffee maker and mini fridge
  • big mirrors throughout the cabin
  • small safe for essentials and small tech gadgets

Summary

We enjoyed our cruise in this mid-ship mini-suite and would definitely book this cabin type again. I’d recommend a mid-ship cabin for easy access to all of the amenities on board, and quick access to stairs or elevators. I think it would be very difficult to go back to a regular balcony room or inside cabin after experiencing this cabin. You can take a look at some of the other cabins we’ve stayed in over the years.

Have you ever cruised before? Do you plan on cruising in the future? If so, what cabin types are/would be your favourite and why?

Oh cruises are amazing! I’ve been on one a few years ago and what a brilliant experience it was. Your mini-suite cabin looks perfect, and the location being mi-ship, having a balcony on it, is exactly what I’d target when I book a cruise again. Norwegian looks like a good cruise liner.

I’ve actually never been on a cruise – it just hasn’t been how I like to travel… BUT I may be rethinking that and looking into some. What luxury!
